I'm not aware of anyone ever having said that they changed their vote at any time as the result of anything the DR room has said. To the contrary, all we see is people bitching about how they had to defend their original position, and that they didn't change their minds.
What we do see, on the other hand, is a TV show on which the outcome needs to include a bit of suspense. Otherwise, how would they fill a full hour? So order to create that suspense and keep the audience wondering about the outcome (especially the predominant audience that does not watch the feeds), the producers need to get the players to speak about why they might *hypothetically* consider voting/nominating/POV'ing the other way.
The producers already know the player's anticipated game play when they call the player to the diary room - the producers have been watching the feeds too! But they want to get the player talking about alternative scenarios in order to create some drama for the TV show. So this takes awhile, and the players bitch that they had to sit in the DR for so long that they couldn't do something in the house. Too bad!
Again, I know of no one who has changed their vote (aside maybe from America's Player last year) based on what happened in the Diary room. This complaint of "manipulation" comes up often, and I only watched about half the video linked in this post before I got bored, but the evidence that I viewed just doesn't support the charge that anything nefarious is going on.
