These guys are super-annoying. The first one I called gave me a complete runaround. He said since you want to watch the finale and the Vegas party, you don't want to cancel- I will just send you an email, then respond to that later after the Vegas party.
This was a bogus email confirming that my account was still active.
So I called again. The guy tried to give me the same spiel. I said I just want to cancel it now. He made it sound like I would miss the Vegas party, I said no problem, just cancel it. He told me I had accrued credit and I would get a free month. I said I don't want a free month, just cancel it.
Finally he cancelled it. As I suspected, I can still use it up through early October, so their statements which imply you will lose access when you cancel are quite deceptive.
This is a big pain. When you do it, just keep telling them you want to cancel right now on the phone. Make sure to check the billing history while you are on the phone to make sure it gets set to cancelled. Good luck.
