It’s my firm contention that it is we, or rather our selective memory, that is different than the casts your ‘greats’ faced. BB was a brand new game (changed from the OG, and to my taste much better game. No one had any reference that season and let’s face it, that cast may have been less attention-whore-filled, but they were just as much a gang of know-nothing neophytes. Dan was with a gang or morons too. And Derrick had a pack of monkeys that as long as he kept them in bananas they hung out together. On their own they’d have failed miserably.
It just feels like an overabundance of Paul hate. His 3 weeks of safety are hardly a thing. If he didn’t have them and things went the same until he said he couldn’t be nommed and he was on the block, the seven would still feel betrayed by Cody and walk away since he backstabbed one of them ON THE FIRST WEEK. The votes that saved Christmas (put up in Paul’s stead) would’ve still voted out Jillian to prove to Cody he made a dumb-***** move on them, and Cody would still be gone wk 2. Paul was good from then because they had a common enemy. Some of you may choose to see things differently, but that’s your bent.
It’s fine not to like Paul. It’s fine to think the other HGs are all morons. It’s even fine for Josh to think he had a huge part in getting him where he is. That as well as Raven being the puppetmaster of the season are things to laugh about. But if you stop and just watch you’d see that getting people to trust you – seeing the recognition in the jury house of four people being there thinking Kevin was the target that week – well, the pressure is off and so may be the blinders.
I have to appreciate the game Paul played. Would I want to have a drink with him – n-n-NOO! But as a devotee of Big Brother I have to doff my cap to him.
As I’ve reminded you previously, Paul was a newbie last season and learned the game in the house. Paulie saved him from being the 3rd evictee and being gone, then taught him the game, from Paulie’s own warped perspective on it.
One of you thinks Victor should’ve won last season. Victor was the monster. He had no strategy at all but to go full-out in comps. For that hard work he got a record – he was evicted 3 times. It finally took. Victor was a tool that Paul used to his advantage. (Some may think Victor was or is a tool in a more colloquial sense, but that’s another post).
If Josh were to bring Christmas I’d still vote for Paul. Christmas did a little more to deserve F2 than Josh did (my hot take). Josh is Paul’s tool this season.
I feel pretty sure the jury will vote for Paul. Cody thought Paul was the only other alpha and said Paul had is vote if he was on jury. What so many others misread is Cody’s disdain for the other jurors not seeing what he saw. Mark went out thinking Paul was floating and now he’s the voice of reason? Come on.
