Meet the cast of 'The Rookie North': Jay Ellis and Chris Sullivan star in new spinoff

The second spinoff of The Rookie, titled The Rookie North, which filmed its pilot in Vancouver, has been picked up to series by ABC. It stars Jay Ellis and Chris Sullivan.
The story is more similar to the original series than the first spinoff, Rookie: Feds, which starred Niecy Nash and only lasted one season. It was a step out of policing because rather than a cop, Nash’s Simone Clark was a rookie for the FBI. The new role of Alex Holland will be a member of a small-town police force.
“It’s a patrol show like Rookie, but it’s set in a very different world, which is the Pacific Northwest,” series creator Alexi Hawley told Parade. “Not just a big city cop show but more of a little bit of urban, little bit of rural, and little bit of meth labs in the woods, so it’ll be fun.”
