Doesn't matter who's catching it, just that it's a pass. So it has to meet the qualification for a catch, which includes holding onto the ball for at least 1-2 seconds after hitting the ground. 01/18/26 12:56 PM

We see these all the time where a player fails to hold the ball completely (not drop it or bobble it) when hitting the ground on the sideline. Then it's ruled no catch. Either needs a 3rd step, a "football move", or a few seconds after hitting the ground or sideline/endline for it to be a reception.
It was no catch here. Plus since the ball never hit the ground and remained a live ball, the DB snagged it and held onto it for an INT.
