The actress, 53, said in a recent appearance on "The Katie Miller Podcast" that she had been brought on to discuss "light, fluffy, and fun" topics like reality television, but was plunged into the deep end when the show turned political. McCarthy cohosted "The View" during Season 17 from 2013 to 2014. "Back then, I didn't consider myself to be a political person, which is why I thought I was perfect for the job.
