4-2-1 are better off losing and getting rid of the 2 and then the 1(if it comes to that) assuring that come merge time, they will still be at least 6 strong while the other will be only be 5 strong at the most and that's only if they convert the single(in this case Alex). That's probably why they started adding more tempting rewards to the immunity comp, but still, suffer through the hunger and discomfort to have a certain majority when it comes merge time.
