‘Scrubs’ Finale First Look: Christa Miller’s Jordan Returns for Dr. Cox’s Medical Crisis

Fans of the hospital comedy revival get a treat in the April 15 season finale, and it’s not cafeteria Jell-O: Scrubs OG and Dr. Cox’s (John C. McGinley) ex, acerbic Jordan Sullivan (Christa Miller), returns!

“With certain challenges we have Dr. Cox facing, Jordan is there for him,” Scrubs executive producer Aseem Batra shares. The doc was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease in the April 8 episode. “What’s interesting about them as a couple is they’re always antagonistic but have true and deep love for one another. They’ve withstood the test of time.”

Also returning to prowl the halls of Sacred Heart Hospital is back-in-the-day curmudgeon, the Janitor (Neil Flynn). “We’re really happy to have a lot of fan favorites back in this one,” Batra says. “It was really exciting to remember the chemistry between people we haven’t seen a lot in the series. They come in and do their roles like they’ve never left.”

But it’s a new face that shakes up Chief of Medicine J.D. Dorian (Zach Braff), who is still struggling to put himself out there after he and internist Elliot Reid’s (Sarah Chalke) divorce. He is smitten with a beautiful and elusive hospital visitor, guest star Rachel Bilson. “This is the episode where we’re hoping he’ll make a move,” Batra says. “There’s chemistry and he may not see it, but his friends see it for him.” JD gets a nudge in the right direction from Chief of Surgery Turk (Donald Faison) and his wife, head nurse Carla (Judy Reyes). Batra says, “They are like, ‘We’re sick of this sad sack friend of ours and we want him to find what we have!'”…..
