Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Release Date: When the Reveal Is Expected BY JOHN • FEBRUARY 19, 2026
The premiere month may have already been revealed, but what about the full premiere date?
Less than two months left before Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection begins filming, and one of the questions that keeps coming up is not just when the series will return, but when the official premiere date will finally be revealed. With production shifting and the rollout timeline actually changing, the announcement window is becoming clearer, and there are strong clues about when to expect it.
The sophomore season is once again set in New York City, perhaps the most ambitious setting in Dexter’s history, and it arrives during a major milestone for the franchise. This time, the schedule is noticeably different from Season 1. Instead of starting in January, filming is now expected to begin in April, actually pushing the timeline back about three months compared to last year.
That delay inevitably...changes the release window. Rather than returning in summer, Season 2 is now expected to premiere in autumn. Executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips has already confirmed October as the target month for the debut. What still remains unknown is the exact premiere date, and of course, when fans will learn it.
To understand what might happen next, it helps to look back at early 2025. The premiere date for Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 was revealed through an old-school teaser featuring Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan reading a newspaper that declared him dead. That teaser confirmed the July 11 premiere and was actually released on April 29, creating an effective promotional window that built anticipation….
