It’s a familiar sight: Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is turning a serial killer’s home into his own kill room, covering the walls and floors with plastic sheets to catch any blood splatter. This might be the scariest environment to date for Dexter, considering the apartment of the New York Ripper is full of posters of body organs.

“It’s depressing,” declares Brian Cox, the Emmy winner behind the new villain. “I couldn’t even go in there.”

And yet, this is the scene of a rarity in Dexter’s world — a cause for celebration. Standing on the New York City set of Dexter: Resurrection season 2, Hall, Krysten Ritter, and Uma Thurman are toasting to 20 years of the pop culture phenomenon that can’t be killed, despite numerous disdained attempts. Heck, two of the three stars featured on Entertainment Weekly’s latest cover play characters who seemed definitively dead at some point.

“The Dexter universe is one in which death is often worn like a loose garment and you just shed it,” Hall explains.……..
