U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a 22-year-old mother in the greater Chicago area, days after she gave birth, and her newborn daughter was in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Nayra Guzman, a 22-year-old immigrant from Mexico living in the Chicago suburbs, gave birth to her daughter in early October. Within hours of her birth, her motherly instincts kicked in, noticing that her baby was struggling to breathe.
