Viola Davis is calling out Target after the company pulled an offensive kids’ Halloween costume from stores.
The How to Get Away With Murder star expressed her anger toward the retailer, which had advertised a “Kids’ Glows under Blacklight Circus Clown” outfit. The now-deleted listing for the costume showed a young Black boy modeling the clothes, which featured a black-and-orange chevron and argyle bodysuit as well as a hood with an exaggerated smile and mini top hat.
“Target, I do not accept your apology, and I do not believe that you understand the impact... the pain... the dehumanization of the above,” Davis wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “These images laid the foundation and the ideology for every atrocity that has been committed against my people.”….
