People across the country got treated to a light show in the sky Monday night.
It was all the buzz as northern lights dazzled stargazers, with many able to see the vibrant colors across the sky.

So what paints the colors across the night sky?

A coronal mass ejection from the sun blanketed the earth with highly charged particles interacting with the atmosphere, translating to show of colors: pinks, greens, orange and red.
The colors you see from the Northern Lights depend on which gas in our atmosphere the particles are interacting with and at what height in the atmosphere.
