Maxie Jones has said goodbye to Port Charles — for now, at least.
Thursday’s episode of General Hospital revealed that Kirsten Storms’ character would be relocating to Australia with long-time love interest Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and their kids. Cody (Josh Kelly) told Molly (Kristen Vaganos) the news on camera, since Maxie hasn’t been shown onscreen in months. The latest episode also revealed that Maxie had left her shares of Deception Cosmetics to Michael (Rory Gibson).
Storms has yet to publicly react to her character’s offscreen departure. Entertainment Weekly has reached out for comment.
Maxie’s official exit comes months after Storms’ months-long hiatus. The actress returned to General Hospital this past February following a six-month break from the show. Her character woke up from a coma and discovered that her late husband, Nathan (Ryan Paevey), appeared to be alive. However, it was actually his twin brother.
Storms appeared on the show through March when she disappeared once again. While she wasn’t onscreen, several references were made to the character. A June episode of the show revealed that Maxie had been traveling to the Grand Canyon with members of her family. That same month, Storms took to social media and explained her extended absence from the show came amid some personal issues.
“Given what’s been going on, I can’t say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work,” she shared via Instagram at the time, claiming that her Tennessee apartment had been broken into in November 2025. The alleged incident came one month after Storms’ ex-husband Brandon Barash filed for custody of their 12-year-old daughter, Harper Rose.
“This has been an eye-opening experience about the downside of my profession,” Storms continued at the time. “My daughter is my entire life, she is (and always will be) my first priority.”
Storms and Barash initially relocated to Nashville last year to co-parent their daughter. Barash was granted a restraining order against Storms in April after citing concerns for her mental health. (Storms also claimed in April that her phone was hacked. The Franklin Police Department confirmed there was “an active investigation” at the time.)
Amid her legal and custody battle, Storms has also been experiencing a years-long health struggle. She was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in January 2025.

“Moving to Tennessee, as a single mom who lives alone 50 [percent] of the time, with a newly discovered brain aneurysm,” her June Instagram caption read. “Well, I don’t think I need to explain how upsetting this entire situation has been for me.”
