So every now and then on the show, if the games ran short in time, Barker would interview the models to get updates on their lives, but he would especially grill Dian and Holly, as they were single. Janice was engaged then married during that time, so her updates were usually about that. But Dian and Holly would be asked about their love lives. Holly would discuss who she was dating and was a little more assertive. Dian however, would be evasive and not answer Bob's questions about who she was dating. Well now we know it was because he was having an affair with her and he was just trying to humiliate her.

In 1988, one of the key producers died, and Barker took more control of the show, including the models. He became an EP and now had the ability to hire and fire the models. So this was the time that Dian filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the show. So Dian got fired, then Holly supported the allegations in depositions, so she ended up being fired as well. Janice supported Barker, so it caused a riff between the Beauties. Holly ended up with her own lawsuit. But Barker's legal team dragged things out and ended up wearing down both Dian and Holly to drop their suits while ruining them.

So yeah, Barker turned out not to be the persona he showed as host.
