ICYMI, it's been a topsy-turvy week at DWTS. It all started last week when pro Jenna Johnson choreographed a dance routine for pro Harry Shum Jr. that included a lift and flip of Harry by two of the male troupe members.
That lead to a dedication from Carrie Ann Inaba, who not only pointed out this infraction but reminded Jenna that she did the same exact thing in a previous season.
Well, while Jenna seems fine with the dedication, her hubby Val was no so amused. So Val dedicated some social media posts blasting CAI. But he went a step too far when he said he should go all Will Smith on her, alluding to the infamous Oscar slap when Mr. Smith slapped Chris Rock for making jokes at his wife's expense for her alopecia.
Well, that wasn't a very good look, so the producers dedicated a one-night suspension of Val from the competition for this week. They also dedicated a return of pro Alan Bersten to dance with pro Jenna Dewan this week. Val has since made a public and private apologies for any allusions that he would take physical means against a judge.
It didn't end there, because pro Gleb, who isn't even competing this season, decided to dedicate his thoughts about Alan, with the most backhanded compliment he could come up with, that while Alan is “a good dancer, I guess, for TV,” but "he’s just not up to the level of dancing”. He also dedicated some thoughts about Carrie Ann, as he thought she was just trying to make some noise for herself.
Well that lead to a dedication from Alan's girlfriend, another pro Emma Slater (who is dancing with Jackson this season) who reminded Gleb that the pros "step in for one another".
And finally, Alan had chimed in his dedication that he is honored to be dancing with Jenna Dewan tonight, who dedicates her dance to her mother.
Got all that now! Wait until they confuse us in two weeks when DWTS will be on Monday and not Election Tuesday.
