CINCINNATI —
An ad in the Ohio governor’s race that garnered nationwide attention will no longer go out on the state's airwaves.
The ad from Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign featured the estranged mother of his opponent, Democrat Amy Acton.
The ad, created by Ramaswamy's campaign, shows Acton's mother calling her a liar and telling people they shouldn’t vote for her daughter.
Ramaswamy’s campaign confirmed that the ad is off the air and that the campaign has six other ads that are currently running, saying the ad with Acton’s mother has run through its cycle.
Acton’s campaign released a statement after learning that the ad won’t be airing any longer, saying it shouldn’t have been run in the first place.
Acton explained that she has not seen her mother since the late 1970s because her mother stayed married to a man whom Acton accuses of sexually abusing her when she was 12 years old….
