Trump’s State Fair arch is coming apart, video appears to show

A video circulating online appears to show part of a decorative facade attached to an arch at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair separating from the structure, adding to a growing list of controversies that have dogged the flagship America250 event since its opening.
Footage shows what appears to be caulk or construction foam protruding from a column attached to the structure. Large separation lines are visible where decorative elements meet near the top corner of the installation.
Newsweek has not independently verified when the video was recorded, what caused the apparent separation, or whether any repairs have since been carried out.
The installation is based on a “triumphal arch” proposed by Trump as part of the National Garden of American Heroes, a planned monument park first announced in 2020 and later revived as part of his agenda for the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
