Tim Walz calls on Trump admin to pay Minnesota for what they broke

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has insisted that the federal government must “pay for what they broke” during Operation Metro Surge, which Border Czar Tom Homan announced on Thursday had concluded, and the administration would drawdown its presence in the state.
“The federal government needs to pay for what they broke here,” Walz said during a press conference following Homan’s announcement. “They are going to be accountability on the things that happen, but one of the things is, the incredible and immense costs that were borne by the people of this state, the federal government needs to be responsible: You don’t get to break things, and then just leave.”
Walz earlier this week had announced that he expected immigration raids in his state to end within days after speaking with Homan and President Donald Trump, but Homan made the decision final on Thursday when he announced during a press conference that “this surge operation has concluded.”…
