Republicans were reportedly crashing out hard and drowning their sorrows on Tuesday night at a private GOP event in Washington, D.C. as they watched their party take a beating in the midterms.

At a GOP party held at Butterworth’s, drinks like “The Elephant in the Room” and “The Senate Majority Martini” were served while Republicans slowly came to realize the blue wave they were facing as Democrats took majorities in both the House and the Senate, according to a new report from Vanity Fair’s Aidan McLaughlin, the former editor-in-chief of Mediaite.

One man at the gathering was puffing on a cigarette and drowning a lager as he watched Sen. Darline Graham’s (R-SC) chances dwindle (she lost to Democrat Annie Andrews).

“I hate my f*cking life right now. Everything just sucks. Jesus Christ we’re gonna lose it all,” the man said.

The sentiment was reportedly shared by plenty of others around. One Republican organizer of the party did his best not to fully lose it after seeing James Talarico’s stunning victory over Ken Paxton in the red state of Texas.

“I’m not trying to crash out,” the organizer said. “But we nominated HITLER with DOWN SYNDROME. And guess what!? He lost! He lost! And now we lose a Supreme Court Justice. It is a f*cking disaster.”
