AMAZING: Governor Wes Moore just made clear that Maryland will not be a partner in Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda. By signing this legislation, Governor Moore just ended a key pathway that allowed local law enforcement to cooperate directly with federal immigration enforcement.
This is what leadership looks like. Instead of allowing local police to be turned into an arm of ICE, Moore is drawing a line and saying Maryland will protect its communities, uphold trust in law enforcement, and reject the politics of fear that Republicans keep trying to spread.
At a time when Trump and his allies are escalating their crackdown, Wes Moore is showing the country that Democrats can fight back with strength and clarity. More governors should follow his lead.
