Dec. 2020: AG Barr called a secret meeting at DOJ. CISA experts proved the Antrim County fraud claims were false — a clerk error, not a hack. Barr told Trump the truth, then handed in his resignation.
That moment was only possible because ~75 career officials across DOJ, DHS & the NSC were in place to investigate and debunk false claims.
ProPublica found nearly all of them are now gone.
Fired. Forced to resign. Reassigned.
Replaced by ~24 Trump loyalists. Ten of them actively worked to overturn 2020. Several are tied to Cleta Mitchell’s Election Integrity Network.
The election denial movement is now inside the federal government.
CISA — the agency Trump himself created after 2016 to protect elections — has been gutted.
All 36 election specialists: fired or transferred.
Staff who remain say elections are now “a toxic poison” inside the agency.
DOJ’s Public Integrity Section, which would have blocked politically motivated investigations:
36 lawyers → 2.
The Civil Rights Division’s voting rights section: nearly emptied and its mission flipped.
Then there’s Fulton County.
White House election lawyer Kurt Olsen — sanctioned for baseless 2020 claims — pushed the FBI’s Atlanta chief to seize ballots.
The chief refused. He was pushed out.
His replacement carried out the raid.
A DHS group internally called “Team America” has been using federal databases to comb voter rolls for noncitizens.
DHS claims 21,000 flagged. Officials who reviewed the results found vast inaccuracies.
It’s a pretext, not a finding.
Trump’s approval is near record lows. He’s called on Republicans to “take over” the 2026 midterms.
The 2026 midterms will be the first federal election with no neutral referees inside the government.
