What will then happen is two fold.
First, insurance companies will pass on the loss to everyone else (because God forbid the CEOs feel any of this). So premiums will rise for all. This could force even more people to forego insurance causing a never-ending cycle.
Second, with more uninsured people out there, ERs will fill up leading to longer wait times. And, when patients can't pay the exorbitant costs, smaller, more rural hospitals will eat the cost which will lead to closures. This leads to less access to healthcare for poorer communities. Which then leads to sicker populations as a whole.
This is not "fear mongering" or "over reacting," this is logical thinking from someone who has worked in the healthcare system since the late 90s.
