If you ask Chuck Lorre, Melanie Lynskey and Charlie Sheen’s final moments on the Two and a Half Men set likely weren’t a highlight for the actress.
In an excerpt from the Lorre’s memoir, Sitcom, published by Vanity Fair on Friday, the TV creator looked back at the moment things with Sheen started to “unravel” on the comedy show’s set.
“The last scene we shot was with Charlie and Melanie Lynskey. He couldn’t remember any of his lines and had to use the furniture to keep himself upright,” Lorre claimed in the book, out Oct. 13. “Melanie was terrified. It was clear to everyone that this man, whom we’d all grown to love, was in trouble. I had no choice but to shut down the show.”
