Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield, who has been charged child sex abuse in New Mexico, faces a new allegation that he sexually abused a 16-year-old girl in California years ago, according to court documents filed by prosecutors Wednesday.
In the seven-page court document, New Mexico prosecutors said law enforcement officers received a report Tuesday from the alleged victim’s father, who claimed Busfield kissed his 16-year-old daughter and touched her intimate parts “several years .
The actor “begged the family” to hold off on reporting the alleged misconduct if he received therapy, according to the prosecutors’ document. He has not been charged in relation to the allegation detailed in the filing.
Busfield’s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Busfield is expected to make his first court appearance Wednesday related to separate sexual misconduct allegations made by two child actors he worked with on a television series. He has denied the allegations.
He turned himself in to Albuquerque authorities Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked into the city’s Metropolitan Detention Center, according to online records.…..
