Hello Jokers!
Interesting week this was. Barrett seemingly goes from the rat house to the penthouse by nominating the Icons and to be honest, it was nice seeing them squirm this week. Even Drew got mad at Barrett! The Icons and Drew tried their best, throwing out the bribe deal with Yash and put the Taylor vote on him (side note, I know Melody thinks no one will ever find out, but they might on Finale night), but Barrett did not give in, good for him. Barrett then creates more hostility with the Icons and Drew by picking Yash to play in Veto, which he wins. Poor Drew, missed all the signature Veto comps lol.
For Barrett, I liked the move. I never believed in the "too soon" scenario, it's not guaranteed that the next HOH would be someone that's now gunning for him, so take the shot and let things fall where they may. Can't play scared in this game. Everyone is saying how it doesn't make sense for Taylor and Yash to align with Dee, I'll just say that for the next couple of weeks, it should have some value as Barrett is the prime target now. The risk is Barrett winning and putting them in danger. I'm not sure if I would do it, but Taylor in particular needs to start winning something, starting with the HOH comp. Now, if I could talk to Melody and Taylor, I would tell them that now is the time to win HOH. Barrett and Yash are kinda dependent on this. If I were the Icons, I would try to throw the HOH to Yash and expose him on the bribe. If the other side wants a cleaner path to win, they need to evict either Devens or Dee, as Looney Angela is a severe liability unless it's a crapshoot comp, giving the other side a better chance to win. I feel like the next comp will be endurance, but something physical I'm sure. But Melody and Taylor, it's time for one of you to step up and take this comp. Just don't FOUTTE the nominations!
