was too cool for him, angry, etc. when representing herself to others. She was very concerned about looking played b/c she has been genuine all season.
Thus, Melody's feelings are very conflicted. Head (don't look stupid) vs heart.
That said, I think they are both just having fun as besties & find each other attractive. I don't think it is as deep as people want it to be.
