 Hutterites live in colonies & they are very self sufficient. You have a job in the colony & are provided a house, eat meals cafteria style, grow most food, have their own fire department. Fascinating

to watch, they seem very happy, they live pretty simple (but not as simple as Amish but they are modest but they can go to college/trade school, use computers, phones and electricity).
In one respect , it seems nice , you get a house that is yours to live in, you do a job you pick, you get what looks like really good homecooked food everyday made for you (no dishes or cooking), they take care of your medical care (or bills). They take care of the old , no nursing homes, no bills. The downside is you get little personal spending money. Most money is community.
There was the nat geo series on one colony and now a few people have youtube channels showing daily life.
