This is a response to:
About 45 minutes ago I felt my first earthquake. The epicenter was 5 miles South of me. What? I live just outside of Galesburg (SW Michigan).

I felt earthquakes 3 times. Twice in California and once in my home in NYC. It isn't something you get used to. Scary!! NT

They are freaky, aren't they? I also don't live in an area that usually gets them, so the two I have been in shook me pretty well, too.

I think my body is finally back inside my skin. Really did scare me. And I think that was because of the extremely loud boom. I should of known

That is interesting. My cats acted weird before the East Coast earthquake in 2011. My first thought when hearing the boom and shaking was that

Mother Earth is certainly acting up lately. USGS says the largest earthquake in Michigan’s history was a 4.6 magnitude in 1947.

I checked that out earlier. Decided earthquakes are just mother nature farting; especially after that loud explosion. NT

We had a minuscule earthquake (in Cincinnati) back when I was in middle school. T-shirts were sold saying "I survived the earthquake + the date." NT
