Big Brother recap: Dual Commandments
Double eviction night wreaks significantly less than usual havoc on the house

The timing for a double eviction should have been unequivocally disastrous for this Big Brother house on this season, during this summer, in this year of our Lorde, 2017. Entering tonight’s episode, we found the house standing collectively on the precipice of a potential major power shift, following weeks of stagnation that primarily involved Cody and Jessica. Now, with Cody as important as last week’s guac, the Great Elena $5K Heist seemed to set the stage for what could have been a catastrophic double eviction that changed the entire momentum of the game.
Instead, we got nada.
The tease was there: Our only recorded footage was the obvious set-up of Elena’s target expanding from tall to venti. This season, that growth has come to be defined by a Kitchen Fight with Josh, now an age-old venerable tradition wherein Josh calls someone (Elena) out, another houseguest uses the opportunity to chime in (Alex), others watch helplessly (Paul et al.), and someone watches their future circle the drain (Mark). If Cody did his part to stir the pot further and Matt and Raven wised up to their future in a fortnight, we could have had a real game of Perfection here.
