WIndstar Spirit luxury yacht to return to Tahiti in 2014

Windstar returns to Tahiti after an 9 year hiatus with a fully upgraded and renovated 'Spirit".

Windstar's Wind Spirit is the most recent luxury cruise yacht of their fleet to emerge from dry dock scheduled to grace South Pacific waters. Starting May 2, 2014, Wind Spirit will call the French Polynesian port of Papeete, Tahiti its home throughout the summer months. The ship will re-position to calmer waters during winter months in the Costa Rican and Panamanian markets, as a year-round product for Tahiti has not been planned.

WindStar left the South Pacific islands in 2005 to pursue European and Mediterranean ports. This will be a welcome addition to Tahitian sailings where luxury yachts of this calibre have not been seen here for nearly nine years. This will be the Wind Spirit's first voyage to the French Polynesian South Pacific.

The Wind Spirit will be dropping anchor in a number of exciting ports of call, including Moorea, Taha'a, Raiatea, Huahini, and Bora Bora, where guests can enjoy a variety of stunning tropical beaches and fascinating Polynesian cultures.

Don't let the size of this cruise vessel fool you. There are plenty of activities with over 10,000 square feet of deck space to keep anyone busy and entertained. The water sport platform aft of the ship serves as an epicenter of excitement for snorkeling, scuba and water craft enthusiast alike. Countless amenities like a full service spa and salon, as well as activities provided for anyone wanting to try something new and adventurous.

As far as renovations, Windstar has spared no expense in spending well over $18 million (USD,) from granite countertops to elegant teak decking, synonymous of yacht fame. These beautifully French crafted sailing yachts are more luxurious and open than ever before, going the extra mile with an eye for detail. “With the completion of the renovations, we are truly delivering on our promise of a unique luxury cruise experience that feels like your own private yacht. Our guest feedback has been excellent; our guests are just as excited as we are to have the fleet completed,” said Alan McGrory, Vice President Marine Hotel Operations

Staterooms are larger than before with an average 188 square feet and include wifi (data fee charge), flat screen TV's, Bose ipod sound docking stations and DVD player. Women will love the extra large bathrooms with full enclosed showers, separate jetted tubs and dual sinks, completing the yacht cruising feel. Spacious closet space tops it off.

Dining is an experience all its own, especially with returning guests immediately noticing the menu face-lift of world class cuisine, as well as a more open dining area. Wine lovers won't be disappointed with a wide selection of California, French and other European cellars to chose from.

Contributing to eco-friendly sustainability, Windstar has installed Natura water purification systems on all their ships. Instead of impacting the environment with needless plastic bottles, Windstar refills stateroom glass bottles and containers for guest enjoyment.

Finally, one of the most exciting aspects of a Windstar cruise is the 'sail-away,' when the sails unfurl, guaranteed to bring tears to any grown man (or woman). When the music to 1492 - Conquest of Paradise begins to play, the experience is both awe inspiring and emotional.

Windstar also has many themed style cruises to chose from. Contact Windstar direct or your cruise professional for more details.
