Thank you. I totally agree about the derogatory comments about Steve. A lot of people do not realise that such a comment is mean and think we may be 09/10/15 03:15 AM

overracting about it. However, it is hurtful. As someone who got teased in high school, such comments were hurtful to me. There were funny ones though, like making fun of my Jedi obsessions, however, most comments were hurtful.
Steve reminds me of my brother who has Asperger's Autism. He takes things so literlly sometimes (my bro) that he's gotten himself out of bullying situations, thankfully. But he got teased a lot in mean ways growing up because people just don't understand people who are different.
Different is not wrong! It is simply different.
Anyway, the society we live in subjects us to so much violence hthat people are desensitized. And ths means words also. Austin ad Vanessa were NOT using non-violent communication.
Non-violent communication. Might interest you Fascinating to learn about it for me, how a lot of ways we talk are violent. My husband and I work hard to communicate non violently to each other. When we do, we've found ways to detect and let the other know if something was too hurtful to let pass. The reflex way to talk is ',violent''. It's tough to communicate non-violenty. But I digress, thought it might be a topic you'd be interested in, given we seem to think alike.
Thanks again for the blog and rant
