I thought Shawn was okay until Emily's hometown date. That is when he first brought up his serious relationship with a great girl and ended for no reason then it didn't feel right. Something didn't sit right with me. He also showed his perfect mom and dad and their house and nieces and the perfect playhouse but we never got much of a sense even this season to what his life is like. It is all focus in on "family". By watching the show I would not know if he lives in a house or what he does for a job.
Now we see him of all the physically demanding adventerous dates. he likes the outdoors (we get it). Most 20-somethings like a sport or the outdoors but once you have kids, your lifestyle changes a bit,less time for all the fun day or weekend long activites. Then as you age or if sadly you get an illness activity levels change. I played college sports, I remember my husband and I ice skaing, roller skating and doing all sorts of fun stuff when we were first married. Then I got a sudden heart condition and I was bedridden for a year. Luckily we had more in common then outdoor activites.
I feel like Sean is looking for this perfect super women vision. They have to like what he likes. So yes maybe a girl likes hiking but she might like making jewerly or painting, why not try her likes as well Sean? or at least as her about them. I feel like all we have heard is about physically activity and wanting a perfect family. Life and a long term relationship to surivive in the real world is about so much more. I have little faith in his love lasting.
